Fifty Shades of Grey crew has been busy zip-tying leaves to bare trees again, this time to make Ladner Village Hardware in January look like Clayton’s in May. Washington State University-Vancouver student Ana (Dakota Johnson) has worked in this Portland hardware store for four years uneventfully until one busy Saturday when Seattle billionaire Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) walks in asking for her help in buying cable ties, masking tape and rope. Unaware of his S& M proclivities, she suggests coveralls so he doesn’t ruin his clothing. “I could always take them off,” he smirks. After several minutes of toying with a flustered Ana he asks her about the article her university newspaper is publishing from her earlier interview with him in Seattle. Hearing they need a photo he suggests a photo shoot and gives her his business card. And then leaves saying that he’s glad her roommate Kate couldn’t do the interview. Conclusion: Christian Grey likes Ana.
Deep fog shrouds the set right now but it’s beginning to lift so there will some exterior scenes with Anna’s VW bug “Wanda” parked on the street outside either later today or tomorrow.
