Jose may not have to physically strip down in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ but emotionally, he does! Victor Rasuk, the actor portraying Anastasia’s BFF in the film, revealed in a new interview that many will be left wondering if they should have ended up together instead of her and Mr. Grey!
As if we needed another reason to be excited for Fifty Shades of Grey to hit theaters next year! Victor Rasuk, 30, who was cast as the best friend of Anastasia who wants more, opened up in a new interview to , VarietyLatino about how he took the heartbreak in his own personal life and applied it to being denied in the film.
“When I played the role of Jose, I related because it’s the girl that got away or the girl you always loved and you never got to tell her how much you cared or that you wanted to be with her and I’m sure every one can relate to that,” Victor revealed to VarietyLatino.com. ”It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely fun because it tapped into something that is so personal to me and to anyone else — to tell someone that you really like them — so it was great to play Jose.”
In the book, Jose Rodriguez is an aspiring photographer who meets Anastasia in college and falls in love with her.
“His love for her is not passionate but like we say in Spanish, he has a ‘cariño’ for her and that’s sort of how Jose is with Anastasia, but he doesn’t come out at her right away,” he explained in the video interview.
However, those who read the book can expect that there will be some differences with his relationship with Ana, portrayed by Dakota Johnson.
“It’ll make some people see it as ‘I don’t know, bro, I would have done it differently’ or some will say ‘Why didn’t she fall in love with him?’ It portrays it exactly how the book portrayed Jose trying to sway Anastasia but the outcome is a little different. I don’t want to give it away,” he teased!
